Privacy notice
What this site records about visitors and how to ask for it to be removed.
This site is my personal portfolio. I keep as little data about visitors as I can.
Visits
When you open a page I record the page address, the date and time, the website you came from (if any), your country (if my hosting provides it), the type of device, and the browser and operating system. I do not store your IP address and I do not use cookies to follow you. A short code made from your address, browser and the date is kept so that I can count one person once per day. The code changes every day and cannot be turned back into your address.
I use this to see which pages are read, whether a link I sent to an employer or agency was opened, and whether my CV was downloaded. If you send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control from your browser, nothing is recorded. Visit records are deleted after the retention period set in the admin area.
Feedback and the contact form
If you use the contact form I store your name, email address, subject, message and IP address. If you use the feedback form I store your message and the page you were on, plus your name and email address only if you choose to give them. I use them only to reply to you, to improve the site and to stop spam. You can ask me to delete them at any time by emailing the contact page.
CV downloads
Before my CV downloads I ask what it is for. I store your choice and, only if you choose to give them, your name, company, role and email address. I use them to follow up on roles and delete them within 12 months.
Links
Pages on this site may link to other websites, for example LinkedIn. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what I hold about you and ask me to correct or delete it. Use the contact page.
