Deployed new converged and hyperconverged infrastructure from scratch on Cisco UCS Vblock and Dell EMC VxRail, and handed it over to operations.
New data centre capacity was needed on standard, supported platforms rather than by extending ageing hardware.
I deployed Cisco UCS Vblock, where compute, storage and networking come as one converged system, and Dell EMC VxRail hyperconverged clusters running VMware vSAN. Both were brought into vCenter with the vSphere features the workloads needed, such as DRS and HA, and then handed over to the operations team.
The estate gained standard platforms that operations could run and scale, ready to take workloads from the data centre consolidation and P2V programme.
Migrated, consolidated and modernised infrastructure across 7 US sites and 6 global data centres: over 150 ESXi hosts and over 1,500 Windows servers.
Designed and administered Exchange 2013, 2016 and 2019 hybrid with DAG alongside over 70,000 Microsoft 365 mailboxes at 99.5 percent uptime.
A repeatable patching process for servers and end-user devices that met compliance deadlines and closed an audit gap.
