Senior Infrastructure Engineer: Windows Server, VMware vSphere, Entra ID and Azure
I am a senior infrastructure and cloud engineer with 16 years of experience delivering and running enterprise environments across the UK, EMEA, APAC and North America. I work directly with client stakeholders from design through go-live and into operations, and I automate repeat work with PowerShell. I have worked on site in the UK, the USA and India, and led onshore and offshore teams alongside several service providers.
How I went from first-line support to designing and delivering enterprise infrastructure.
I began in 2009 as the single IT contact for seven regional offices, in first-line support. Being the person everyone calls teaches you quickly what matters: clear answers, calm under pressure, and fixing the cause rather than the symptom.
From support I moved into design and architecture. Today I work at Tata Consultancy Services in the United Kingdom as a single point of accountability for clients, from first design through go-live and into day-to-day operations. I have worked on site in the UK, the USA and India for Fortune 500 clients in utilities, financial services, manufacturing and professional services, and I have led onshore and offshore teams.
I still build, not only plan. Recent work includes moving over 800 servers to Windows Server 2019 and 2025, single sign-on for over 300 applications through Microsoft Entra ID, and a tenant consolidation of over 1,000 mailboxes. I write the designs, take them through review and business approval, and then deliver them.
I learn quickly, on the job and in my own time. I hold the Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) and Azure Administrator (AZ-104) certifications, plus VCP-DCV and VCP Cloud Management, and I write up what I learn in Insights.

My work sits where four areas meet:
What I enjoy most is the full journey: assessing an environment, understanding what the business needs, designing the right solution and seeing it through to delivery. I write the high-level and low-level designs, take them through architecture review and business approval, and then build them. I am as comfortable presenting to stakeholders as I am building and automating.
I started my career in first-line support and grew into an architect role, so learning new technology quickly is how I have always worked. If a role needs a skill I have not used yet, I will learn it fast and apply it with the same care as everything else I deliver. Given the opportunity, I will meet the needs of the role and go beyond them.
I am based in the United Kingdom and open to infrastructure, cloud and platform engineering roles here or in another country. I am happy to relocate for the right opportunity.
